so i decided to side track from commissions to finish this piece!
have you guys seen the #likeagirl video always created? or the verison commercial on how girls are raised into becoming "girls" society wants them to be? its truly inspiring and eye-opening
it teaches not only that girls can do anything the same as guys can do but also how words have an impact on our lives
now i have always been an activist against patriarchy, but i never really did anything for it... so in response to the video, i decided to make a piece that would spread some news!
ive decided to mash both inspirations into one piece to show that girls can do anything guys can do!
i researched the highest ranked male-dominant jobs in America and created these occupations as a result (chefs and doctors were also added but i feel that our society has grown accustomed to females in those occupations)
i didnt want this piece to be dark and depressing because its supposed to be optimistic and looking to the future of acceptance and equality! i also tried to change the meaning of "like a girl" into something positive! (hence the occupations relating back to the phrase)

In the UK there are almost as much women there is as men in the law enforcement, when a crime is called on, 1 policeman and 1 policewomen will arrive at the house
Women have the opportunity to go for a career in design technology, just as much as men
